Rev. Justin E. Wade, Student Body President at Livingstone College, Salisbury, NC and Founder of the Forward Focus Youth Empowerment Conference, stopped by DaGrip for my first in-person interview in 24 months. Yes we are both vaxed and all that good stuff. Wade will pursue a Masters' of Divinity degree at Duke Divinity School upon graduation from Livingstone College. Today's show shares insights about emerging leaders and their contributions to an everchanging culture.

He has over twenty years in both education and social services. He ventured

out in writing and publishing meaningful narratives for the culture, and

community. His first publication: Voices from the School to Prison Pipeline:

A Black Male Educator’s Memoir was written as a direct result from his

experiences residing in a racially polarized society as a Christian, middle-

class, African American Male.

“Dr. X”, is a native of the Bronx, New York, and a graduate of Manhattan College, Riverdale, NY, with a double Master’s Degree in Counseling and Mental Health Counseling. A proud HBCU graduate, Xellex attended Livingstone College, Salisbury, NC with a major in Liberal Arts, English. Initially, with the dream of becoming a journalist, Xellex quickly realized her life calling was going in another direction. In 2019, she was conferred her third Master's Degree from Walden University in Philosophy. With a passion to help people realize and chase their potential, Xellex currently works as the Vice President of Shelter Services at Bronx Parent Housing, New York, NY. Her primary clients are families with children that are struggling with homelessness, as well as being severely mentally ill or drug-addicted. She completed her doctoral work at Walden University with a concentration in Social Policy Analysis & Plan. Featured in Forbes Women and on Bronx Network, her dissertation, “Experiences of Long-Term Stay Among Homeless Millennials in New York City Shelters”, explored the experiences of long-term stay millennials, 25 to 34 years of age, residing in single adult NYC shelters to understand how they explain and interpret their extended stays.

 DaGrip welcomes Superior Court Judge Kimberly Best to the Podcast.  Since 2009, Judge Kimberly Best has served as a District Court Judge in Mecklenburg County, District 26. Previously, she was a lawyer at The Best Law Firm, PLLC and a lawyer at Browne, Flebotte, Wilson, Horn & Webb, PLLC. She has also served as a Magistrate in Mecklenburg County and a Spanish Teacher at JT Williams Middle School. She is also the NC State Chair for the National Association of Women Judges. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan, her Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and her Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law.

Annetta comes from a family of spiritually awakened people, The  Kirkwood Family. She grew up at St. Marks COGIC and now serves at Tabernacle of Praise under Pastor Charles McCarley & Lady Rachel McCarley.

Annetta is a licensed minister and a worship leader. As an artist, she has traveled all over the world. With three recording projects and a newly released book (November 2020), Annetta is a Behavioral Nurse & Behaviorist for children 0-22. She has four adult children, three grandsons, and one on the way.

Annetta is also a Certified Life Coach specializing in relationship coaching, self-awareness, and spiritual wealth coaching.
She’s a two-time Breast Cancer Survivor. But, it’s more to her than what you see.
