David Anthoni welcomes Coach Nicole Woods of the Lady 49ers Basketball Team to the podcast. Woods, as a member of the coaching staff as well as in her own life, talked plainly about adversity. Through the conversation, Woods shared how the team faced some hard truths but realized as Mike Tomlin would say, "The Standard is The Standard". Woods affirmed the new season and the opportunity to reach postseason play again. Woods said we can do it, but we must work hard every day. She didn't shy away from her thoughts on the WNBA, her beloved Carolina Panthers, and the start of the new NBA season.
It's another great show.

DaGrip welcomes Dr. Monte Witherspoon to the dialogue on "Education in America". Dr. Witherspoon shares how his story as a struggling student in elementary and middle school fueled his efforts to help all students become "high achievers". He gives credit to the teachers who refuse to let him fall through the cracks. During the dialogue, Witherspoon shares several strategies the faith community and parents can embrace to propel our students forward.
Dr. Monte Witherspoon is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the son of Reverend Vera Witherspoon and the late Douglas Brown. Reverend Witherspoon preached his initial sermon in 1994 at Steele Hill A.M.E. Zion Church in Lancaster, South Carolina under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Marion R. Wilson.
Dr. Witherspoon attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in North Carolina. He graduated from Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies. While at Livingstone College, he served as the President of the Student Government Association, National-Vice President of the Pre-Alumni Council of the United Negro College Fund, President of the Pre-Theolog Union, and member of the Board of Visitors.
Dr. Witherspoon furthered his education at the Morehouse School of Religion at The Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia where he received a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling. While at The ITC, he was elected president of the Student Christian League (Student Government Association) and served an unprecedented two consecutive terms in succession of many profound pastors and community leaders across the United States. As president of Student Christian League, he developed several community programs in the greater Atlanta area. While in Atlanta, Georgia, Reverend Witherspoon received Congressional Recognition for Outstanding Community Service by Congressman John Lewis for his service in the Atlanta Metropolitan area.

The NC Nursing Academy offers a variety of programs for students to become certified through the State of North Carolina. NC Nursing Academy offers Nurse Aide I Training, Personal Care Aide Training, Medication Administration Training, and Medication Technician Training. Upon graduation, students can receive immediate job placement and or further their education. Jeremy and Darian share the success stories of students and the plan for future growth. David Anthoni chats with the President of Clinton College, Dr. Lester McCorn about the exciting transformation of an HBCU emerging out of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
The Reverend Dr. Lester Agyei (Ahd-JAY-ee) McCorn is a visionary leader, scholar, author, activist and college president. He is the 13th President of Clinton College in Rock Hill, SC. He is a native of Worcester, Massachusetts. An alumnus of Morehouse College, Yale Divinity School and Chicago Theological Seminary, he holds the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) from United Theological Seminary. He is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Ethical and Creative Leadership, with a concentration in Martin Luther King Jr. Studies and Social Change, at Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, Ohio. For several years, he served as an adjunct professor/mentor of doctoral students at United Seminary. Dr. McCorn is the author of “Standing on Holy Common Ground: An Africentric Ministry Approach to Prophetic Community Engagement.” (MMGI Press, Chicago). He had a 31-year career as a pastor in the A.M.E. Zion Church, including serving in the major cities of Boston, Chicago, Atlanta and Baltimore. He came to Clinton College after having served as the Senior Pastor of the historic Pennsylvania Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church in Baltimore, Maryland from 2008 to 2017.
